The Rude native is a slightly upper end restaurant that serves food with an international flair, much of it from the mideast. They have a restaurant in Waterloo, Hamilton, Guelph, and possibly other places.
While there I ordered the Pita and dip as an appetizer, which was interesting, as the hummus was fantastic, yet the Olive dip was concocted in some sort of terror factory (that's mostly because it contained olives though).
For my mail I had the sweet morrocan chicken curry. This is a curry dish served on couscous, and it featured raisins. This dish was excellent, and really emphasized that curry is not just one flavour that makes Indian food taste hot, but rather a wide range of interesting flavours.
My dinner companions had the catfish feature, which marvelessly enough, was a fish dish that actually tasted good. Not fishy at all.
My other companion had the salmon and chicken combo, which was a pretty typical salmon and chicken dish in a cream sauce. She was satisfied though.
For dessert, I had the banana phylo dessert, and one of my companions had the chocolate bundt cake. These were awesome. Come on.
The service was nice, and the Rude Native is one of those places that only hire pretty girls who dress in black to be waitresses. I'll let you decide for yourself if that's a good thing or not. The atmosphere was fun, and at night they turn into something of a lounge. I didn't stay for that, but I'm sure it's fun.
