Okay, my advice today was actually put into action yesterday. If you're going to a job interview, take a copy (or two, or three) of your resume. Always have extra copies in hand. There's a good chance the people who are interviewing you are too lazy or too busy to print out your resume and will ask you for one. A VERY good chance.
Interviewer: So tell me.....what do you think your biggest weakness is?
Interviewee (who shall remain anonymous): Wellllll.....I'm just not very good at math.
Interviewer: Really? (drags out giant binder full of figures and calculations) Would you be able to do this math?
Katie (while watching the Golden Globes): Hey, I really like Kiera Knightley's dress!
Miguel (also watching Golden Globes): That's Kiera Knightley? Wasn't she in Bend it like Beckham? (sounding very incredulous)
Miguel: But she's so white! In the movie her skin was a lot darker and she looked Indian. (Understand that Miguel really believes that this person he now sees, and a cute indian girl from the movie are the same person)
Katie: ummmm.....Miguel? She was the white girl in that movie.
Much laughter insues as the light goes on in Miguel's brain.
I have been alerted to the fact that anyone who has not seen Bend it like Beckham may perhaps not find the above quote/anecdote as incredibly hilarious as I did. So here' s a link to the movie:
