If you are a commuter, don't fall asleep on the train. Or if you are going to sleep, be sure that you aren't so comfy as to not wake up at your stop.
So on Friday I fell asleep on the way Downtown from Georgetown. Half way there I thought "I will use this ridiculously long scarf as a pillow!", cranked up the Pod and took a little a.m. nap. I awoke just outside of Union station...GOING THE WRONG WAY! Apparently the train had pulled in, unloaded and was going back to Mimico where it sits for the day before I awoke in a panic. After discussing my plight with the conducter, he gave me a TTC token (I also had NO money on me, so some bonus advice may be to travel with at least a few dollars on you at all times), let me off at Exhibition and I took the street car to work.
If you see someone sound alseep at the end of the line on a train, wake them up, they will appreciate it.
Don't fall for the Valentine's money trap. I sincerely believe that Valentine's Day was invented by Laura Secord and Hallmark. Maybe make the effort to let your loved one know how much you appreciate them verbally, perhaps even physically, but don't bother wasting your hard earned dough on cards, chocolates and diners. Just my 2 cents.
