Advice of the day for the week of August 6th, 2 zero zero 7

It's never too late to start something new, or to pick up something you left laying on the floor years ago.

I've got a new found interest in debt, now that I've reached the age where a young urban professional is supposed to buy a condo or a house. The more I look into it the less I think home/condo ownership is for me.

It seems to me that once people buy a house they become consumed by it. They end up spending all of their time rebuilding kitchens, installing dimmer switches - locking up all of their capital in long-term agreements with shady corporations and blowing the rest of their paycheques on short term desires manufactured on HGTV by that creepy carpenter with the fake tan, bleach blonde hair and the permanent shit-eating grin.

Is it better to make landlords richer? Did someone just shit in my cornflakes this morning?

I don't have any answers, but I've got a whole bunch of questions.

For instance, what does this mean?

Also, I live in Toronto now, if anyone would like to get beer on a weeknight next week, let me know.
