So, last night, watching some random movie on Showcase HD, they kept playing this one Gillette razor ad, which I know I've seen before, but hadn't really listened to before I guess. The key point of the ad seemed to be this: Did you know that Gillette Fusion razor's last longer than Gillette disposable razors?
Am I the only person that thinks it's frightening that this is a question that might actually pop into people's heads? That the razor blades that cost more per blade than a pack of disposables might actually last longer?
The other ad that this made me think of, was their deodorant commercial that had the line, "Men love technology".
While that statement by itself might be true, what the hell does that have to do with fucking deodorant? The ad featured a deodorant stick that would transform and open up showing its um...technological coolness, even surprising and scaring a woman just coming out of a shower at the end. I can't really remember an ad that struck me as being that stupid having been aired in recent memory.
