Advice of the Day for April 6, 2013!

Posted by phduffy on 2013-04-06 15:14:17

Scroll to the bottom for an announcement regarding the Advice of the Day. But first, the advice:

Only you can prevent forest fires. Particularly if you're God and control lightning. So, Thor, stop starting Forest Fires. The rest of you... meh.

Website of the Day:

I really liked this article on the NYTimes about helping other people:

BONUS WEBSITE:
If you've ever felt like donating money to a random guy on the internet... now's your chance!

And now for the announcement. Today is the 10 year anniversary of the Advice of the Day (yes, really). Since the time I started the advice, I've changed a lot, and so has the internet. I no longer an under employed single guy, but an over worked but happy guy in a loving long-term relationship. This has meant much fewer AOD emails than in the past. As mentioned, the internet's also changed - it's not hard to find multiple sites sharing links to other fun sties, all over the internet. I imagine that virtually every link I send out has been seen by at least one person on the mailing list first.

So, with all that said, there was only one conclusion I could reach regarding the Advice of the Day, and it's future. I hope this doesn't disappoint, but...

Starting this Monday, the Advice of the Day will return to its more or less regular (every weekday) schedule. Some weeks I might only get 4 days, and some weeks I'll be on vacation, but the goal will be to provide you with at least 4 AODs a week, containing the same mix of genuine advice, terrible advice, and stupidity that you've come to expect.

As always, you can find all of the advice at www.thewolfshack.com
