Yes, I agree it is more controversial.
Our society? Does this include Ontario... Canada... North America... the first world countries... just curious. You (phuffy) are the one who has always been telling me how great and progressive our goverment is, like forgiving debts, etc. I think making same sex marriages leagal is pretty libertarian.
Either everyone should be allowed to get married or no one should get married. I've heard some people say that it is okay for gay people to marry each other as long as you don't call it a marriage, call it something else, because the idea of marriage comes from the bible or something. What else could we call it... alliance maybe, duet, or a kinship perhaps?
