The Insurrection!

The Insurrection

There are moments in sports that will forever be etched in history. As Toronto Blue Jay fans, there have been a few, but all of which are decades old- the near triple-play, Robbie Alomar mocking the chop as he was rounding third and scored against Atlanta in the ’92 World series, and of course, Joe Carter's triumphant World Series clinching homerun.

Since 1993, the Jays fell off the map. The fans, if any, fell off the face of the planet. It is now 2004, and it is TIME for a revolution.

The Insurrection will occur. Mark this day in your calendar: July 26, 2004. This will be a day that will live in infamy. I didn’t come hear to tell you people how it will end- I came here to tell you- this is how it begins. I am not going to run through specific details of what exactly what will go down on this day. But I did to come here to tell you things will never, EVER be the same at the Sky Dome again.

1,000 strong forces in section 518.
A sea of blue to mesmerize the pin stripes.
And heckles that will target every player from Enrique Wilson, to Jorge Posada, to Steinbrener himself.

Tell your family, tell your friends, tell your neighbors, and tell strangers. The Insurrection will happen. Things have been set in motion that cannot be stopped. The beating of the drum will echo the beating of Joe Torre’s heart, when he realizes, THE INSURRECTION cannot be stopped. And a sign…

And after that final out we get in the top of the ninth, we sing once and for all to the Yankees and their hostile fans who entered our building:

“da na na na…… NA NA NA NA- HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE’’

The idea is to create an atmosphere like at a European Soccer match.
Even if you don't like baseball, this will be a good time. I was at the game Saturday and we had a good time yelling and cheering. But that's nothing compared to what it's going to be like on July 26th.

There will be drums, horns and who knows what else. And section 518 is only 9 bucks.

Also, I can get cheap tickets through work for the following:

Sat June 12th at 4:05 vs. Arizona
Sun June 27th at 1:05 vs. Montreal
Sun Aug 15 at 1:05 vs. Baltimore
The cost for Blue Jays tickets are $22.10 each (subject to taxes)

Argos - Sat July 7th - 7PM vs Montreal
Argos - Sun August 8th - 5PM vs. Edmonton

The cost for Argos tickets are $20.38 each (subject to taxes)

But more importantly than that, let me know if you're interested in the resurrection!
